Gemar in Bloom | December: Inside a Christmas Snow Globe Wonderland. An interview with Gergo
For the December creation of Gemar in Bloom, the installation immediately stands out for its magical winter atmosphere. What was the main idea behind this design?
Gergo explains that the starting point was the desire to create a scene that felt immersive. The goal was to make people feel as if they were inside a Christmas snow globe, surrounded by a festive winter wonderland rather than simply observing it from the outside.
What was the biggest creative challenge in developing this installation?
According to Gergo, the main challenge was the creation of the Christmas trees. Three different trees were designed, each using a different balloon technique. This approach allowed for variation in structure and texture while maintaining a cohesive overall composition.
Which materials and colors were used to bring this concept to life?
To build the installation, around 200 modelling balloons were used, combined with organic and distortion balloon elements. Gergo highlights the importance of color selection, with Shiny Green, Shiny Kiwi and Emerald Green chosen to create depth, shine and a strong Christmas atmosphere.

The background plays a key role in the final effect. How was it created?
The snowy background was designed using almost 300 white round balloons. This element was essential in reinforcing the snow globe feeling, as it frames the entire scene and adds softness and visual continuity to the installation.
Which part of the process proved to be the most complex?
Interestingly, Gergo notes that creating the individual balloon elements was relatively straightforward. The real challenge came during the final assembly. Aligning all components, maintaining balance and ensuring visual impact required precision and time. The full setup took approximately half a day.
How would Gergo describe the final result?
The completed installation is more than a Christmas decoration. It is a Christmas balloon installation designed to evoke emotion, transporting viewers into a festive balloon wonderland filled with light, snow and seasonal magic.
