{"id":98129,"date":"2022-06-08T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-06-07T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gemarballoons.com\/gemar_balloons_crown\/"},"modified":"2025-07-29T15:10:55","modified_gmt":"2025-07-29T13:10:55","slug":"gemar_balloons_crown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gemarballoons.com\/fr\/gemar_balloons_crown\/","title":{"rendered":"The Gemar Platinum Jubilee Balloon Crown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the weekend of 1 &amp; 2 June, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/theballoonstylistlondon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Fiona Eagle<\/a>, from <a href=\"https:\/\/nabas.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">NABAS<\/a> association, was at Epsom Racecourse for the lighting of the Beacons for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations and Ladies Day at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thejockeyclub.co.uk\/epsom\/events-tickets\/epsom-derby\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Cazoo Derby<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thejockeyclub.co.uk\/epsom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Epsom Downs Racecourse<\/a> in Surrey UK.<\/p>\n<p>This crown is based on the St Edward&rsquo;s Crown which was placed on the Queen&rsquo;s head at her coronation in 1953. It was made in 1661 and is kept at the Tower of London.<\/p>\n<p>During Fiona&rsquo;s research, one of her favourite large crowns was a giant topiary one. She was inspired to make this balloon crown. The installation consisted of about 900 balloons and was about 2 metres high.<\/p>\n<p>In the creation process, Fiona was interviewed by the event presenter, so the construction could be seen on all the big screens of the place.
