Gemar Day Athens: Creativity, Community, and Hands-On Learning at Its Best

The Gemar Day tour continues — and our stop in Athens on November 24th was one to remember. Hosted by our partner Balloon.gr, the event welcomed an impressive 120 participants, all ready to explore new ideas, refine their skills, and celebrate the art of balloon design together.

From early morning, the room buzzed with enthusiasm. Balloon decorators of all levels — from complete beginners to experienced professionals — joined us with the same goal: learning, growing, and creating something meaningful.

Tailored Training for Every Level

To ensure a valuable experience for everyone, the day was organised into two main groups:

Beginners Class — Led by Vincenzo Musto

This group focused on the fundamental principles of balloon art:

  • understanding balloon types
  • basic inflation and sizing
  • essential rules of balance

Vincenzo’s practical approach made the core techniques accessible and easy to apply, helping newcomers feel confident from the very start.

Advanced Class — Led by Alexander Solomatin

Meanwhile, the advanced group worked with more complex techniques, guided by the expertise of Alexander Solomatin.
They learned how to build refined structures, manage volume and form, and combine elements in ways that give decorations depth and professional impact.

A Final Project That Brought Everyone Together

After a morning of focused training, the two groups reunited in the afternoon to create one large, beautiful final composition.
This collaborative project allowed beginners to put their new skills into practice while advanced participants contributed with precision and structural expertise.

The result was a vibrant and impressive installation — a perfect example of what can happen when shared creativity meets solid technique.

Thank You, Balloon.gr
